I Have Lived a Thousand Years was an incredible book, to say the least. Every few months I'll rediscover it on a bookshelf and be completely appalled again and again. This book is a Holocaust memoir, written by an actual Auschwitz survivor. She was thirteen when she and her family were forced into a ghetto, and then eventually Auschwitz. She writes about the terrible living conditions, sicknesses that ravaged the camps, and how terribly brutal guards, and even other prisoners, were. This book soars between hope and sorrow, brutality and kindness. The way this book is written truly shows how terrible and amazing humans can be. I would totally recommend this to anyone looking for a hard, but beneficial read. This book was truly amazing. -Allie
