We Were Liars

I would like to say that I completely understood this book, but no. I mean most of it, but it really just made me angry and not in a bad way. The book was beautifully written and the characters were great. I was stunned and I mean stunned by the climax. When it comes to whether or not I cried, yes, yes, I did. It was like sobbing tears running down my face. That book hit a nerve, and the author is AMAZING when talking about grief. Because in the end the book was about grief, guilt and coming to terms with yourself and that it'd not your fault. I loved this book, but I hated it. I recommend it 100%.-Annabelle
A Good Girl's Guide to Murder

Reading this book was such an amazing thrill, I loved it! As a fan of crime fiction and murder mystery, this book definitely satisfied my tastes, I even got my mom hooked on reading it. A Good Girk's Guide to Murder is the first book of a trilogy. The story takes place in a small town, engrossed by the case of Andie Bell, supposedly murdered by her boyfriend Sal Singh, who killed himself shortly after. With the body of Andie Bell not found, the case closed shut. Everyone knew who did it. Until five years later, Pippa Fitz-Amobi, a clever and fearless teen, wasn't so sure. She pursued her own investigation by using her senior capstone project as a front to prove Sal Singh's innocence. I never expected to be immersed in the story as much as I did, following along with the thoughts and feelings of the main character with sudden plot twists here and there. I'm thoroughly pleased that I got to indulge in this roller coaster of a mystery.-Lena
The Woman in Cabin 10

When I started reading this book, I was worried it would be just the same as any other modern murder mystery. It was a million times better. The Woman in Cabin 10 is about a travel journalist named Lo Blacklock, whose assignment is to go on a special cruise ship for a week. The trip starts off calmly, and we learn about the small luxury cruise and the handful of veneered guests. Then, one night, Lo witnesses someone being thrown overboard- but all the passengers are still accounted for. She tries to figure out what happened on her own... which is a bad idea. I adored this book- it kept me guessing all the way. The setting and plot were all very well-developed, intricate, and intriguing, and every little detail added to the story. I truly felt like I was there. The characters were very realistic and layered. You MUST read this spectacular work of art!-Gea
Mister Death's Blue Eyed Girls

I genuinely enjoyed this book. Murder mysteries don't usually hold my attention. It's probably a little weird that romcoms are bigger page turners then mysteries but you know, it works. This book is different. It is set in the 1950's and it is less of a "whodunit" and more the story of a girl just trying to learn how to live again. The chapter's are mostly from the perspective of this high school girl. This girl saw her friend lying dead on the street and now has to grapple with this trauma. While she is trying to move on she starts befriending the top suspect of her friends murder. The other chapters are from the perspective of the killer. As the reader you don't know anything about this character. Through out the book you learn more about the killer, but it isn't until the very end you learn what the victims connection to the killer is. Also, this book is a true story. The main character is based off of the author's friend (not the victim). I would highly recommend this book. It honestly has something for everyone.-Norah
One of Us is Lying

This book blew my mind. It is the prequel to One of Us is Next. PLEASE do not pull a me and become impatient and read the sequel before the first. Bad mistake, but it doesn't love the book any less. The secrets will take your breath away and this author used the standard cliques and wound them into a beautiful book and murder mystery. A total must-read!-Annabelle

This was a great book. You definitely need to read One of Us is Lying, first because if you don't it will pretty much spoil that book. The book was well developed and I mean the secrets they say they will catch by surprise so hard. I loved this book and would totally recommend this read. -Annabelle
The Lie Tree

The Lie Tree was one of the books that I was sort of reluctant to read, mostly because it sounded like the plot would be a lot like Greenglass House. However, I was super impressed with this book! It was very intriguing and not super confusing. I would totally recommend this to anyone looking for a good mystery! -Allie
A Study in Charlotte

This was a very interesting mystery! It's about the descendants of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson. Jamie Watson meets the eccentric Charlotte Holmes at a private school in America. Together they solve the mysterious murder of one of their peers at school like the partnership their ancestors had. I CANNOT begin to describe how much I love the characters. I really liked this book, there were many plot twists. It kept me on my toes throughout the whole thing. This book definitely gives you sophistication and complexity. The relationship between them definitely grows stronger towards the end, but I don't want to spoil anything, so go read it!-Lena
The Inheritance Games

The Inheritance Games was a fast-paced entertaining escape that I loved. It's about Avery Gambs who inherited everything a billionaire had and left his family almost nothing. The grandsons' puzzle over this mysterious girl and one of them think this is some last riddle their grandfather had left them while taking an interest in her. I felt like I had just started and then all of the sudden it was over, so I was thankful that there would be a sequel coming fall of 2021. For all those hopeless romantics, there is a love triangle (though it is was not as exciting as I thought)! I also liked how the book ended because most authors usually would rush the ending and wrap it up with a random plot twist, whereas this one was just short and sweet.-Lena
The Christopher Killer

The Christopher Killer is a novel centered around a teen named Cameryn, and the mystery of her recently murdered friend. I thought this book was pretty interesting. There were a lot of twists and turns along the way of finding the murderer. At times she couldn't even believe her friends to be completely innocent. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes mystery novels. -Jessie
